How to Add or Fix a Missing Student ID in the Diia App in Ukraine
A national-standard student card normally appears automatically in Diia. Check EDEBO and fix RNOKPP, name, photo or card-record problems if it is missing.
Helpydo structures practical guidance around official or public sources. For individual cases, confirm requirements with the responsible institution.
You do not manually add a student ID to Diia. After you sign in, an eligible national-standard student card loads automatically if a valid record exists in the EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register. If it is missing, first check the card in the EDEBO register. Common causes are an absent or invalid card record, an RNOKPP or name mismatch between your bank authentication and student-card data, or missing EDEBO data. Contact your dean's office or education institution to correct the record or order a national-standard card when necessary.
What you need
- A valid national-standard student card recorded in the EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register.
- The student-card record must have a valid status in the register.
- Your personal data must match correctly, especially your RNOKPP and full name.
- The necessary data for the digital document must be present in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (EDEBO).
- Access to the Diia mobile app and successful authorization.
- If you only have a student booklet or a university-specific card that is not the national-standard student card, contact your dean's office or education institution to order an eligible national-standard card.
Eligibility
Diia can display an electronic student card based on an issued national-standard student card recorded in the EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register. The register covers valid national-standard student and pupil cards issued by higher, professional pre-higher and vocational education institutions. Diia's official guidance states that a student booklet or a unique university-specific card cannot automatically appear as the Diia student document. If the required national-standard card has not been issued, the student must contact the dean's office or education institution to order one.
How to do it
- Sign in to the Diia mobile app. There is no separate form for manually adding an eligible student ID: the document should appear automatically when the required register data is available.
- If the student ID does not appear, check your physical student card in the official EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register using the card details and your personal data.
- If the card is absent or has an invalid status, contact your dean's office or education institution. If you never ordered a national-standard student card, request one there.
- If the card exists and is valid, check whether your RNOKPP and full name in the bank used to authorize Diia match the data associated with the student card. Correct incorrect bank data or try authorization through another bank where appropriate.
- If the problem is in EDEBO data, contact your dean's office or education institution and ask it to check and update your full name, RNOKPP and the information required for the digital document.
- If you have only a student booklet or a university-specific non-standard card, order a national-standard student card through your education institution. After an eligible issued card is entered in the register, Diia states that it loads automatically.
- If the physical national-standard student card was lost but the digital card is already in Diia, you may continue using the digital document, but contact your dean's office to restore the physical card.
Do you need to add the student ID manually?
No. There is no normal manual upload process for a student card in Diia. According to Diia's official instructions, after authorization the student document appears automatically when its data is available in the Student and Pupil Card Register.
The electronic student card is a digital representation of information from an issued eligible student card, with a QR code that enables automatic verification against the EDEBO register. Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1051 governs electronic student and pupil cards.
Which student IDs can appear in Diia?
Diia's student document is based on an eligible plastic national-standard student card. The EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register contains information about valid national-standard cards issued by higher, professional pre-higher and vocational education institutions.
A student booklet or a unique card created only by a particular university does not automatically become the digital student card in Diia. If that is the only document you have, Diia instructs you to contact the dean's office and order a national-standard student card.
You can independently check whether a card is in the official EDEBO register. The register search uses the card number and personal details, including surname and first name as written on the document.
Why is your student ID not showing?
Diia identifies several specific causes. The first is that the student card is absent from the register or has an invalid status. Diia notes that this can occur, for example, when a student has not ordered a student card, has a non-state-standard card or in circumstances associated with the form of study.
The second common problem is a mismatch in the RNOKPP or full name. Diia advises checking whether the information at the bank used for authorization matches the information on the student document. If necessary, correct the bank information or try authorization through another bank.
Another cause is missing information in EDEBO needed for the digital document. Diia's guidance directs students in this situation to the dean's office to update their full name and RNOKPP.
How do you check whether the card is in EDEBO?
Use the official EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register. The current register lets you search for a card using its series where applicable, card number and personal information such as surname, first name, patronymic where applicable and date of birth.
Enter the surname, first name, patronymic, series and number exactly as they appear on the document. EDEBO instructs users to enter names in Ukrainian. The search result is displayed immediately.
EDEBO also provides a personal-information service through which a person can obtain information held about them, including student or pupil cards that are valid at the time of the request and contained in the register.
What should you do if the RNOKPP or name does not match?
Check both sides of the data match. First verify the full name and RNOKPP held by the bank through which you authorize in Diia. Then check the information associated with your student card and education record.
If the bank information is wrong, arrange for the bank to correct it. Diia also suggests trying another bank for authorization where appropriate. If the incorrect or incomplete information is in the education data, contact the dean's office or your education institution so the EDEBO information can be corrected.
If you need to obtain an RNOKPP rather than correct an education-record mismatch, see the separate Helpydo guide on getting a Ukrainian taxpayer identification number.
When should you contact the dean's office?
Contact the dean's office or responsible unit at your education institution when the problem cannot be solved by reauthorization because the underlying education record needs attention. This includes cases where you have not ordered a national-standard card, you only have a university-specific card, the card record is missing or invalid, or EDEBO lacks or contains incorrect personal data needed for the digital document.
The institution is the practical route for correcting or completing its student information and for ordering an eligible national-standard card. Under the current EDEBO rules, information about issued student and pupil cards is entered or updated in the register no later than the day following the day on which information about issuance is entered into EDEBO.
Can a university's own student card appear in Diia?
Not automatically if it is merely a university-specific document rather than the national-standard student card. Diia explicitly states that a student booklet or unique university student card cannot be displayed as the digital student document through this process.
If you want the student ID in Diia, ask your dean's office or education institution to order a national-standard student card. Once the eligible card is issued and its data is available in the register, Diia says it should load automatically.
What if you lost the plastic student card?
If your digital student card is already displayed in Diia and you lose the original physical card, Diia states that the student document continues to appear in the app and can continue to be used. However, you should contact your dean's office to restore the plastic version.
The digital student card has legal force under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1051. Diia's official guidance states that it can be used to identify the holder and confirm student status, as well as for benefits and discounts where the relevant rules provide them.
A quick troubleshooting order
- Confirm that you have a national-standard student card rather than only a university-specific card or booklet.
- Check the card and its current status in the EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register.
- Compare your RNOKPP and full name with the information used by the bank through which you authorize in Diia.
- Ask the dean's office to check your EDEBO data if the card or personal information is missing or incorrect.
- After the underlying data is corrected or an eligible card is issued, authorize in Diia again and allow the document to load automatically.
If the underlying register information is correct but the digital document still does not work as expected, Diia's official student-card instructions provide access to Diia support for unresolved app-side problems.
Is this the same as a missing diploma or education certificate?
No. The student-card register and the education-document register are distinct components of EDEBO. A missing student ID should therefore be diagnosed through the student-card record rather than by replacing a diploma or school certificate.
If your problem instead concerns a lost school education certificate, use the separate procedure for getting a duplicate Ukrainian school education certificate.
Frequently asked questions
How do I manually add my student ID to Diia?
You normally do not add it manually. Diia automatically displays an eligible national-standard student card after authorization when a valid card record and the required personal data are available in EDEBO.
Why is my student card in EDEBO but not showing in Diia?
Check whether the card is valid and whether your RNOKPP and full name match the data used by the bank through which you authorize in Diia. Missing or incorrect EDEBO data can also prevent the document from appearing.
Can my university's own student card appear in Diia?
A university-specific card or student booklet that is not the national-standard student card cannot automatically appear as the Diia student document. Ask your education institution to order an eligible national-standard card.
Where can I check whether my student card is registered?
Use the official EDEBO Student and Pupil Card Register. The register lets you verify a card using its document details and the holder's personal information.
What should I do if my RNOKPP is wrong in the student record?
Contact your dean's office or responsible education-institution unit to check and correct the information in EDEBO. If the mismatch is in the bank data used for Diia authorization, arrange for the bank to correct it or try another appropriate bank.
How long does it take for a student card to appear in Diia?
Diia describes the display itself as automatic and estimates about 10 seconds after authorization when the required register data is already available. If the underlying EDEBO or card data must be corrected, there is no single Diia processing time for the institution's correction.
Will my student ID disappear from Diia if I lose the plastic card?
Diia states that a student card already displayed in the app continues to appear if the physical original is lost. You may continue using the digital document, but you should contact your dean's office to restore the plastic card.
Does the digital student ID in Diia have legal force?
Yes. The legal framework for the electronic student card is Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1051 of 18 December 2019, and Diia states that the digital student document has the same legal force as its physical counterpart.
